Acts242: Devoted to the Apostles' Teaching
Acts 2:42 in the NASB95 translation reads "They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." But within a short time false teachers started "drawing away disciples after themselves" to such a degree that the apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths." The time the apostle spoke of was then...but it also is now.
We want the spirit of Acts 2:42 for ourselves, not the spirit of modern Christianity. We therefore want to devote ourselves to the apostles teaching, to fellowship, to breaking bread, and to prayer. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied." While true and final satisfaction awaits glory, God does reward those who seek Him now. As much as I am able as God gives me light and liberty, I plan to share those things of the apostles teaching with you all to aid in that journey.

Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you;

Strangers in the Ballot Box: A Biblical Take on Christian Politics

Should a Christian engage in politics? I once talked with an individual and was sharing teaching from the Word of God and he cut off communication not because of me but because others shrugged their shoulders with Roe V Wade was overturned and said essentially - of the world, who cares. That kind of attitude, while I trust I was never so baldly uncaring as that, is common with some saints that I know, but my study of Charlie Kirk challenged my own somewhat non-committal stance on this topic. Was he right? Was it "incumbent" on a Christian to do all that we could to save this "beautiful country?" As I studied this I learned more and more that while I though Charlie was off into a ditch on this issue...there were some things that I was missing as well. This episode seeks to present an overview of my findings and to show you the listener a picture of how a Christian should navigate this difficult question.
